150 replies that are being thrown straight in the trash. They will never do anything with this thread lol It’s been indicated that everything we’ve said is not being taken into consideration and I hope you’re excited for the newest and latest suit that will literally one tap everyone within a 50m radius coming this Christmas update Hi Clarky, We've actually decided to change our approach to coming updates to not just include the standard suit + case + booster pack deal for coming updates following the discussion the Community Team had based on this thread a couple of weeks ago, which myself and Martin mentioned above. I’m sure everyone else too would love to know what steps are being taken now, transparency is key and if you demonstrate this then you’ll receive constructive feedback and ways of actually and genuinely improving the server rather than keeping it as a small group who have a completely different prospective to the vast majority, hence why people are pretty much rebelling against you lot. Me personally, this update will most likely not draw me back already by the looks of your sneak peak post (I mean this in no disrespectful manner, i heavily respect the time and effort it can take when coding). It’s just not going to fix the issues on what the server is already going through and like mentioned before, drastic changes will be needed to really give the server a kick up the arse. It‘s almost becoming a waste of your own time coding these updates for a server that has been struggling for some time now but I respect the determination and efforts. (probably the most respectful post ive made this past month lol) One of our key plans involves increasing the number of jobs on the server, something which has been request6ed a lot in the past and we've noticed is a key factor on a lot of other DarkRP servers, specifically jobs which make it a lot easier for new players to grind and make money / items in ways which don't directly require basing or combat (things like the Lawnmower job, but more widespread and balanced in accordance with the effort required). Alongside this is also the update approach which we feel would be better as a progression-based approach rather than spinning the wheel or grabbing some boosters and having all of the content in the new update unlocked within 48 hours of launch - the way in which we'll do this is still being discussed but we do have some ideas which will likely go into place soon (unfortunately this is not likely to be the Christmas update, as due to some unforeseen circumstances less manpower has been able to go into the Christmas update than anticipated, but to make up for this, I am planning to do a New Years update after Christmas, time permitting, which should contain more content, including a couple of new jobs). There will likely be a new job in the Christmas Update which will be a seasonal job thought up by Richard. The Christmas Update mostly focuses on the gang system, as a couple of key things we've had suggested revolve around the gang system, and after going through this thread we felt as though a good way forward initially would be to incentivize some more gang-on-gang action whilst also making it easier for gangs to work with fellow gang members (through features which have been teased on the sneak peak post). Hey Xnator, interesting approach! It's great to finally see that the focus is being put on making SSRP more 'noob-friendly', however looking at the statistics, there aren't many new players joining (for the vast majority of this year). Have you guys thought about applying marketing tactics to gather new players? eg; advertising through google ads, social media, (other servers?) or starting a marketing campaign? This is something we've looked into previously this year, however our conclusion was that advertising within Garry's Mod doesn't really work (there aren't places to advertise Garry's Mod servers where they will actually be seen) and the number of YouTubers who are actually willing to take money to play on / advertise a server is very limited, if there are any at all. We do know, however, that having a dedicated streamer / YouTuber for the server does help with player count, as it improves interaction a lot, and this is something we're actively looking into. |

We do know, however, that having a dedicated streamer / YouTuber for the server does help with player count, as it improves interaction a lot, and this is something we're actively looking into. That's great to hear! I previously read on a thread here somewhere that there was a period that a youtuber joined the server some while ago,(only to troll but that's not the point) which caused the playerbase to spike for a while. Noticing this, (and i'm not questioning your capabilities) why wouldn't you push this proven to be effective marketing tactic along side the new upcoming update? Instead of only 'looking into it' this should be one of your key-objectives. Would be a damn shame to develop one of the most interesting updates in years without the playercount reaching +50. No reason to develop an update if no one is gonna know about it except the current community who are already discontent with how things are going, so its only logical to assume that word of mouth advertsing is off the table. |

I wear a re occurring theme was fixing stuff and bringing back older players? I appreciate the clarity with a lot of things but there are fundimentaly issues on the server which cause lot sof people to not want to play. Like the massively overpowered suits and weapons thst make basing impossible. are there any plans to tone down some of the stuff that ruins basing for example the Demon and other stuff. |

Simply there is such little action and competition that no one strives to replace anything they lose or be better than anyone else at anything which in turn means people don't bother coming on just to fly around in suits or on hoverboards for hours at a time.

Personally, not many people play this game anymore. No more motivation to actually sit down and base and no more motivation to actually raid. The problems stemmed from the crappy economy after the few suits were introduced to the game and people did some funny business with it.
Regarding actually playing it, if these problems are fixed I know for a fact that many people would be willing to get back into the action. I suppose a wipe would be nice. To the people who want to play the game again, they probably would need that sort of fresh and clear slate to begin again, while to the others who don't, they already don't play. Other fixes would include looking back at the items that were introduced, and maybe tone it down a bit. I understand that perhaps there is a motivation within the dev team to keep things fresh and add things every event, but I suppose that that is what's causing a problem; too much is going on, while there aren't many who actually want to go through with these types of updates and items. Most players now are usually either gambling, sitting in spawn, or just hanging around, but the fun activities, like basing and raiding, are not there at all. TL;DR just make a vote about wiping the server |

Okay you have rare items store with the same 10 shitty items but who counts that. even if said players did play and put out some stupid price for a suit what's the point of them selling it because the money is useless and as soon as they get that money other players just inflate the price of there items and its just a vicious circle player owned economies in regards to items just does not work with limited players and no items really entering the eco and like most of said we have grown up and would rather play debit card roulette on a sticky table in spoons to see who's paying for the next round |
