What made me stay and join 2015 was the ability to destroy props with explosives

I originally joined as I had friends playing it so I decided to try it out, what made me stay were the players, the uniqueness of the server, and the very good staff team that answered an f1 almost instantly and knew the rules, what made me quit for a while was the broken economy and stupidly OP evo and mummy, alot of players stopped playing and that's what eventually made me quit aswell. but now that the evo and mummy have been fixed I'm starting to have some fun on zarp again, I just wish people would base more and for the advanced trip mine to not one shot everything.

This topic is amazing !
100% yes for the NPC who would sell items even if people would still have 300 gluons and 50 random suits. It wouldn't bother me at all if people like jack bushross had 500 gluons and i had 10 as soon as it would be pretty easy to get more. People who bought boosters shouldn't have to farm / grind as much as people who didn't but the effort getting a complete stuff ( i mean to fight rich players ) represents is just incredible. The thing that made me stay is the custom content with the suits and special weapons, so i'm obviously against the idea of removing items. When i joined ( around november / december 2017 ), i just wanted to be like rich players and use strong items to fight, raid and defend nukes and all of that. The PVP aspect is clearly the best thing on zarp IMO and that's why i came back today, i saw on the forums that the easter update was coming so i decided to join back to see if anything had really changed and the suits are now balanced, it took a long time but now i think that you can use every suit, there is no trash suit anymore and everything is viable. There are a few things remaining such as the economy but it's way better ! The updates are cool also, keep it up guys ! ( they'll be even better after economy changes ) I'd really like to see very cheap items in an NPC's menu, it has to be something ez to do for you compared to all the things you've been creating and adding recently. I'm not alone so i'm pretty sure the community can find ways to balance that NPC to avoid seeing people stomping everyone with stuff they're the only ones to have ( Hey old mummy ). please don't be rude or challenging in any way, we're trying to make the server a better place to spend time in |

Things that made me stay for as long as I did:
Now for suggestions, some of which may be repeated from the above paragraphs:
That’s all I got for now, I’ve been typing for like 40 mins and I’m tired but those are just my opinions on everything, wouldn’t be surprised if some of it is edited or censored as people don’t like being called out for shit they’ve done but I really hope that you guys can sort out the server and make it better. Sorry if some of the stuff I said doesn’t make sense. EDIT: Morgan made a google doc a long time ago of suggestions, good ones, I lost it but if you can find it then you should definitely take a look. I’ve never really gotten along with him but the points and suggestions he makes are very good sometimes. Another edit: holy shit congratulations on community owner DEADMONSTOR, you definitely deserve it. |

I joined with a bunch of random guys I used to play with online, we based in nexus and got kicked out and moved our printers in pickup trucks to suburbs and based till someone hyper m202’d us. and I said to myself that I want to be that good and to have cool things, to me the server was easy to understand but I never really got the social part since I was a dumb 13 year old with anger managements. I’ve grown out of that faze but my rep won’t. Besides that I just loved how everything worked and the whole meta before evo, but when evo became a thing I had 5 of them and went crazy and I also had 14 gluons but never understood how important they were so I was too balsy and sold the shit cheap. Even tho I’ve gone through a lot of shit on zarp and my reputation was being dragged threw cow shit I still wanted to be apart of it since the few friends I had were genuinely the greatest people (shout out to stewy and bulletz) now with my current friends I have a constant amount of fun shit talking and nuking know I have people by my side if someone raids or if someone calls me out in ooc. I guess I never had a huge problem with op items since I could find out how to counter it half the time but zarp has been and will forever be the greatest gaming experience I’ve ever had.

I remember seeing a video on ZARP in April of 2014 on townsend, it took me rewatching it a few months later to try it out. As soon as I joined I remember seeing this amazing map that I had never seen before, and there wasn't a SINGLE space that didn't have someone basing in it. I remember walking around and seeing all these people running shops, making cool houses, and I thought that it was the nicest thing. I remember when I found out that special weapons could actually destroy props, which was a feature that no other server had back then to my knowledge. I remember how great it felt to get my first million, to sneak into these mega gang bases and steal money from their printers in mansion and beach, and how it felt to own special weps. Truthfully the best memories come from 2015, when you seriously couldn't find a single building without something going on inside.
I've been here 4 years now, and I've seen hundreds of players come and go, their number one reason is something being too overpowered, no action except nukes, and some of the staff members being subpar or lazy. I can recall back in 2015 how amazing and dedicated the staff team was, no F1 went unanswered for more than 5 minutes. I miss the days when you could base on one side of the map with your huge gang, then on another side of the map another massive gang was basing. I miss caring about losing tguns, milkors, m202s, matadors and even rpgs, I miss the new players staying and working their way up together in their gangs. My idea of zarp was that any new player could join and become richer than anyone else, which nowadays simply can't be done. I constantly give new players money in an attempt to make them stay on the server. But most of the time it doesn't work because they end up getting raided by experienced players with suits or special weapons. My advice to all of you guys, if you want the new players to stay on the server, help them out a bit. Don't raid their tiny bases, don't destroy their hidden printers on S2 or S3, don't ruin their fun in the first few days they join, otherwise they'll never come back. This server still has a ton of potential in my eyes, and it's these types of things that are driving new players away. The number one thing that drives new players away however, is the sheer difficulty to get any sort of suit. This is a HUGE problem and it can't be like this forever. |

As much as I despise staff being rude to people and would do everything in my power to abolish it, it's just not possible by one person in the lead team alone. This is really something that winds me up: people yell - for lack of a better generalised term - corruption but never actually direct us to the specific incident that amounted to it. We can't always be around 24/7 to catch staff who are abusive and it's often very difficult to do so as a higher ranking member of staff because they are almost always aware of your presence; they're less likely to slip up. This is why players, such as yourself, should also do their due diligence and report abusive staff members be it in private or in a demote request. Some people would retort (and I'm paraphrasing here): "you can't report X, Y and Z because they're friends with A, B and C!" The best possible 'solution' - I'm using solution lightly here because it might not actually solve your problem - is to go even higher than you were originally intending to. Got a problem with a Super Admin but don't want to go to a Head Admin for fear of favouritism? Go to a CM or even a CO if they can spare the time to help. I'll close my response by referring to my opening statement: I hate staff mistreating players and am more than prepared to work with anyone with concerns to try and resolve their issue(s). You can approach me directly with any issues relating to moderators/admins on SSRP as I have the ability to deal with such problems however, feel free to also consult me for issues on similar/higher ranking staff for a second opinion. I don't fully understand your criticism of the hacking policy. You believe that staff should be more lenient rather than jumping straight to punishments but want people who hack to be banned upon first detection? Is there something I'm not getting here? The reason why people are given a chance to disable their cheats is the same reason why people are given verbal warnings for any other rule: they can change up their act, all you need to do is communicate. It's specifically a point I do my best to mention when training new staff (sometimes I do forget, I will admit) as I think most people would agree, having a staff member say: "hey, cut that shit out", rather than being picked up, frozen and warned for something that wasn't necessarily that serious and you weren't intending to ruin people's gameplay with it. I did read your whole post, but these were just a couple of points I wanted to open a dialog about. |
