TOPIC: taking some time with my thoughts

taking some time with my thoughts 6 years 1 month ago #862166

i've been hit with the heaviest depression i've ever experienced out of nowhere over the past few days and i don't have the motivation or energy to do anything, to the point where leaving my bed is physically and mentally draining. i'm getting really easily pissed off and emotional, so it's better if i take some time off. i've got too much shit to think about, so expect a potential period of inactivity. i need some time to myself so I can deal with this, and also to ensure it doesn't crop up as an issue in my staffing. hope you can understand.

see you all soon.

my bed is physically and mentally draining.

I'd say anyone who spends as much as an hour a day on the computer has that problem (more or less). You said it yourself; motivation is the issue. Playing games all day keeps your brain active on useless stuff, it gives you the kind of fulfillment you think you need but what you actually need are real hobbies. I don't know how to say it to convince you but if something is wrong with your life you gotta make a change - Nobody is gonna make that change for you.

If you spend a week without your pc you might realise you don't actually need it as long as you find something to replace it with. It could be some real life hobbie like painting or whatever but don't come crying on the forums because this is the third if not the fourth post i've seen from you and you clearly don't take anyones advice you just keep on crying because you can't get your lazy ass to back to work.

This is exactly what I feel during the winter when I can't go out because of the rain and freezing cold weather, but during the summer i really do not bother with my PC

I don't often talk about my issues within the community, but this is something that hits close to home. I know we have not talked much, but I am usually up for a chat if people want. I've suffered in and out of depression for quite a bit of my life and have tried a few different ways of handling it. I've done mental/spiritual counseling, therapy, meds, etc. I'm currently on antidepressants and antianxiety medication. If you think a chat might help out in any way, please don't hesitate to reach out. The last thing you should do when feeling down is actively avoid help, I wish I understood that years ago.

don't be so ignorant as to believe I haven't tried to help myself, because I've tried a large amount of things, and all the things you mentioned

i wouldn't have been able to deal with it until now if I just did nothing and took nobody's advice

no need to be so aggressive lol, some people have more issues than others and I don't really have many people to talk to about it so I post it on the forums

Glad to see you're putting yourself first, and It's humorous that "Bread Lee Guy" thinks it's so easy and takes one thing to feel better and overcome this, I've been there myself not long ago and still get therapy to this day, do what you can Sorle and trust me seek help if you haven't already; it has helped me just speaking to loved ones about it, it's not "fixed it" but it's helped a lot, maybe you should try doing that when you're ready if you haven't already mate.
