TOPIC: A message to our staff about spectating

Occasionally I get the message from another staff member that they've caught a felow staff abusing whilst spectating them.
I would like to remind everyone that you can only spectate a fellow staff member when you suspect them of abusing their powers or breaking rules.

You are NOT allowed to spectate staff members because you dislike them and want to catch them doing something wrong.
Administrators are not supposed to spectate their fellow staff, nor are they allowed to do so.

The reason why you get the spectate command as an administrator is to catch users that are possibly breaking rules.
The fact that you can use the spectate command on everyone on the server, including the higher ranking staff, does not mean you should do so.

Lead Team members actively spectate the administrators and moderators, not to catch them breaking rules but to see how they behave on the server and to help them improve.
The Lead Team sit on the server and spectate you to see what you could do differently, in order to help you to handle sits better and become a better staff member as a whole, so you can grow in the community and help users better. It could even help you achieve higher ranks.

If you have any issue with a fellow staff member because you fear they do their job wrongly, then report it to a Lead Team member. The Lead Team is experienced in the server's rules and especially in dealing with possibly abusive staff. They are trained to handle these kinds of situations, so rather than spectating staff to possibly catch them doing something wrong you should tell a Lead Team member to deal with it as they will know what to do.

It's just a pathetic thing to do tbh... I won't be surprised if they stop lower ranks from spectating higher ranks or even spectating the same rank if this carries on! Thanks for making this thread Raeker!
