Server Name: SSRP

Suggestion Title: Nerf Handcannon Splash Damage

How would it benefit the server:

Since the Handcannon was released, it has been the killer of all bases, 3 shots and the entire base is destroyed. Through walls or from across the map this weapon has ruined basing for almost 2 years. Not to mention that some people have managed to get a hold of over 50 of them. The splash damage of the Handcannon is ridiculous to say the least, and the only weapon that does even close to the amount of damage to props than it is the ion. M303, Spartan, or Ion, the handcannon beats them all. First main problem with the weapon is the HUGE radius of damage. If you are shooting at a wall of about 20 cooling towers, you will most likely blow them all up within 3 shots or less. This weapon is the reason that you can no longer hold up a base of less than 10 people without being raided within a matter of minutes. It needs a nerf, and bad. You did it with the ion, so now do it with the handcannon.

Finaly Sam posts something i can agree on, but as it's been suggested many times (twice by me) they sadly ignore the 0 risk high reward weapon.

Yeah I always wondered why Spartan Lasers were even a thing since they're so outmatched by the handcannon.

It really does piss me off, you used to come on the server and see lots of bases, small gangs and big gangs, but now there is nothing. All that thanks to the Handcannon and partly the Gluon which they nerfed shortly after it was released.

Having so many base shields placed at once in the same area makes the HC weaker as props quickly heal, but I do agree that the splash damage does need a change.

Gluon had another nerf/buff, try it against fence props and the hit reg for the gluon was improved so it's more of a weapon to use against players than props now.

For it's cheap price and the amount of damage it does, it is really outbalanced. And most likely the baseshields that are placed are blown up by people rushing in with M202s or tguns.

The Spartan M303 and Ion are just weapons to fall under the HUGE shadow of the Handcannon.

When it was first released it shredded through bases, no matter what pretty much. And yeah now it is basically only used for ripping suits or raiding/defending

:plussp: In the end, I'd really enjoy to see an m303 actually be used in a raid instead of hearing the distinct sound of the handcannon every goddamn time.

Hand Cannon is overpowered but so is the Thundergun and the M202/M303 so in order to make the Hand Cannon bad or at least weaker, they should do the same to the other special weapons. I do think this is a good idea but for the price and also it's rarity since it's a golden blueprint, the Hand Cannon should be kept the same until the other special weapons are FIXED as well.

Sure but base shield and prop protection has a decent effect against T-Gun & M202 which makes it it's weak part and countering it means you use props to your advantage, though it's good for killing people with.

HC can wipe out ur base in less than 5 seconds lol. But it's not just that tho, you can fly with the HC, and shoot bases from the sky.

I reckon buffing HC's dmg on players, and nerfing dmg on props/splash dmg, would make it manageable.
By buffing the dmg it deals on people, it would disallow players to fly into the sky with HC, and by nerfing the dmg/splash dmg on props, it would maybe give defenders more than 5 sec to react to their base being 1 shot lol.

Sadly ive got to agree with this, the handcannon is ridicilously op, i really like to blow up bases within seconds, but its unfair to new players and gigantic bases. :plussp:

True, Handcannon jumping is a very easy way to get to unreachable spots on the map, and since it isn't propsurf or propclimb, it technically isnt even a rulebreak. I remember Handcannon jumping on that invisible ledge near Industrial on S2 and shooting down at people with a tgun, and nobody knew where the hell it was coming from. This was also the way that I got out of the map the night I m202ed, just thought I'd let everyone know.
