Random Death Match - Killing a fellow player with no RP (role-play) reason.
Now expanding on this definition, this rule has boundaries; which are defined within the rules.
For example, you can kill a player if:
- They have damaged you (Self-defence)[But you cannot kill a player in a car without a valid /me].
- They Refused to co-operate in a kidnap/mugging [Assuming the /me is valid].
- They are interacting with a base you're raiding [As long as you're not raiding an "RP House" or a "Building" Base]
Where as you cannot kill a player if:
- Their player model is black
- They are standing next to an expensive car
- They are walking in the direction you are
New Life Rule - Rule that prevents you from returning to the same district as well as interacting with your past life before the
3 minute timer is up.
Expanding on the rule, you cannot return to the same RP situation you were interacting within 3 minutes.
For example, you are breaking NLR (New Life Rule) if :
- You die trying to arrest someone and then proceed to return to the same area to attempt to arrest them again, without waiting 3 minutes. [There is an exception to this rule, police jobs such as SWAT, Police Officer, SAS have no NLR in the PD District (The district in which the Police Station is located)]
- Being killed as a Hitman as you are attempting to claim a hit, and then returning to the same place to claim the hit, again without waiting 3 minutes.
- You are killed while attempting to raid a base and then proceed to continue raiding the same base before your 3 minute timer is up.
You are not breaking NLR if :
- You are AFK (Not rping) in the district where you died in [For example if you died in spawn you can remain in the Spawn District for the reminder of your "NLR timer" as long as you refrain from rp'ing]
- If you are a cop and countering an ACTIVE bank raid [A bank raid is ONLY active when a message,[ZARP VAULT] Breaking News! A robbery is underway at the bank vault., appears in chat and the red light is flashing inside the vault. A raid is not classed as active unless the message appears, thus you cannot break NLR if there is simply a person inside the vault]
- If you are raiding a base, as a cop, that contains an Activated Nuclear launch [Cops can break NLR if they are raiding a base that contains an activated Nuke,
[NUCLEAR LAUNCH] Kris Dude (Biggie Smalls) has started a Nuclear Launch!; while the rule states that cops only have an NLR exception in "the base during a Active Nuke raid", cops are given some leway; if there is sufficient reason to belive the nuke is held inside a base then they can break NLR as often it is hard to know for sure if a nuke is held within a base (for example within district bases)]
Metagaming- Relaying information that can be classed as "within rp" in OOC (out of character) chat.
This rule is pretty straight forward, typing any information that is within rp, such as your location is classed as "metagaming"
You are metagaming if you :
- Broadcast your location in OOC, (OOC) Rhys #GOTMOD: Meet me at bank
You are not metagaming if you :
- Broadcast information in an advert, [Advert] Teddyy: Help me defend my base in the Residential District! or in group chat, (group) Jenga: Help me raid the bank
Scenarios
Scenario 1-
Player x accuses player y for RDMing him, the console log shows that player y killed player x.
For the purpose of this I will refer to player x as Rhys and player y as Swiftz
Firstly, I would teleport to Rhys to ask whether he still wants the F1 handled and to make sure I'm not interrupting any RP,
From there if he says, yes I do want it handled, I would teleport the both of us onto a roof.
I will proceed to ask Rhys about what occurred; firstly to see if his accusations have any substance and to also get a "jist" of what happened, from there I would ask if Rhys has any evidence to support his side of the story; this would go 2 ways:
- If Rhys does provide evidence I would review the evidence; and if there is proof of the RDM I wouldn't need to move onto the second option. But if there isn't sufficient evidence for Swiftz RDMing Rhys I would move onto the second option.
2. The second option is in the case of no evidence being provided or if the evidence is insufficient, in this case I would have to interview the other party (Swiftz) to see which one, if either, is in the wrong.
From here I would again teleport to Swifts to make sure I'm not interrupting any RP, in the first case I would allow Swiftz to explain his side of the story; if he admits to it from the beginning I would take a more relaxed attitude to the situation (Although I would also take recent punishments into account) and will most likely explain to him why he couldn't of killed Rhys and let him off with a verbal (as long as it is justified).
But if there was no evidence I would question Swiftz on why he killed Rhys, if Swiftz gives a valid reason for killing him I would explain to Rhys why it was not RDM; but on the other hand if Swiftz gives no valid reason for killing Rhys I would proceed to punish Swiftz in a way I feel suitable.
Upon ending the F1 I will return the players back to their previous RP positions and allow them to continue playing.
Scenario 2- Player x accuses player y for breaking NLR, the kills are pretty close together in console (a few lines apart) at a peak time.
For the purpose of this I will refer to player x as Rhys and player y as Swiftz
Firstly, I would teleport to Rhys to make sure I'm not interrupting in any RP and then I would move the both of us to a roof.
I will proceed to check in which district both kills occurred in, this will go 1 of 2 ways.
Firstly, if both kills occurred in a district other than Spawn then almost certainly Swiftz broke NLR.
Or secondly, if both kills did infact occur in Spawn then I will have to investigate further, questioning Rhys as to why he killed Swiftz in the first place.
After checking the logs and verifying the claim that Swiftz broke NLR, I will teleport to Swiftz and inform him that he's needed for a sit; I will tp myself and Swiftz to the rooftop.
I will proceed to question why Swiftz killed Rhys and allow him to share his side of the story, for almost all scenarios Swiftz will be in wrong and will be punished accordingly (based on his recent warnings).
Scenario 3 -
Player x calls for help in the OOC chat because his bank is being raided
For the purpose of this I will refer to player x as Rhys
Firstly, I would begin by informing Rhys that he cannot call for help, and instead he should advert it or inform the police directly, possibly explaining metagaming to him if he doesn't know what it it
If it comes to Rhys metagaming again I will again inform him that he is again, if I haven't explained metagaming to him yet I will this time.
And if it happens again he will be given a verbal, and from there it may escalate to a warn if he's being defiant and continues to metagame even with the previous advice.
Why I should be chosen :
I've been a member of the Zarp community for over a year, alot of things have changed but the thing that remains constant is rule breakers.
As a user my powers are very limited; I can record but I need clear proof, I can report the rulebreaker to Staff but time and time again they can get away with it.
I'm hoping that me becoming a moderator will have a positive influence on all SSRP server, I will be able to take a more pro-active stance on rulebreakers, interact with more of the community as well as being able to improve the standard of RP for everyone.
