TOPIC: [Forum Suggestion] Direct Messaging / Chatbox

Suggestion Title: Direct Messaging or a Chatbox.

How would it benefit the server: No more god damn "*user* contact me on steam" posts, and useless threads which are blatantly there just to get up a sub count.

Potential Issues/Exploits: People could use the direct messaging to easily target and bully other users however that can be stopped easily...

Additional notes: Stop making threads on the forums if you need a staff member go to Teamspeak, it isn't hard don't be lazy...

Has been suggested and denied in the past, however I feel like it would be easy to work around users harassing other users. Make it so you have to screenshot and report it on the forums if you feel another user is harassing you. Pros outweigh the cons IMO.

I'd love to see a chatbox on the forums, I believe I suggested this a long time ago for Friendly Player's forums as well. +Support

They should also make it so you need a certain amount of posts before you can use it, to stop alts from abusing people.

There are a lot of viable ways of contacting people that you need to contact, we have a teamspeak server and you can add the people that you need to speak to on steam. No need for this to be added as it would in my opinion bring more issues to the table as opposed to helping people. I mean instead of asking people to contact them on steam why not go on the teamspeak and contact them there or just add them on steam right from the start.

I don't really see that as a problem as long as it's constructive and/or important. Posts that derail a thread that has nothing to do with that is what is considered nonconstructive. There's of course the "Help" section which is what it says. If you're so annoyed by these posts, why not make a suggestion that debunks more than half of the posts on here that have my jimmies rustled; great guy, +support etc. Call out the other groups, not just the users that make "contact me on Steam" threads, which in my view, not many surface daily.

How do you know if their main purpose to post that they need to contact someone is to "blatantly" get up their sub count?
