How do you feel that your time as an administrator has contributed to becoming a super administrator:
I feel the time I have spent as an Administrator has contributed a great deal to my decision to becoming a Super Administrator. The experience I have gained as a staff member since becoming admin has helped me a great deal in terms of how to handle various situations that I often encounter on the server. As an administrator I feel I have contributed a great deal in terms of staffwork, meeting productivity(suggestions, etc), and keeping the server A+, which is why after almost a month of being admin, and almost 4 months of being surf staff I have decided to take the next step and become more involved in the upkeep of the server.

What makes you a good candidate for the super administrator team?:

Time:
I have been Surf Staffs since early December and have actively attended meetings, met my weekly activity requirements, and made sure that players have an enjoyable experience while on our server! While I know there have been times where my activity can be shaky due to the fact I am a college student currently finishing the last semester to obtain my Bachelor’s Degree(BS - Psychology), I am very dedicated to the server.

Dedication:
As I have shown throughout the course of my time as a member of the Surf staff team that I am very dedicated to my position. While I recently held the position of Moderator on the Prop Hunt server(Have since resigned from the position), my heart has always been with surf. I have spent my time to making the server a better place for those who play by making sure that they have an enjoyable experience that isn't ruined by players who decide to not conform to the rules. While I am not on the server 24/7 I am almost always on Teamspeak and Steam, so I am always around if players or other staff members were to ever need me for something server related or if they just wanted to talk.

I have shown my dedication through my actions as a staff member, but also how slowly I have decided to apply for promotions. While many get Moderator and immediately apply for Administrator, I waited. While many get Administrator and immediately apply for Super Administrator, I wait. Because as someone who has been CM banned a few times I feel like to prove to my fellow staff members and the community abroad, that I am dedicated to the position that I hold and will continue to be dedicated to it for however long I am able to be productive in the community without it interfering with my real world responsibilities.

Involvement:
As mentioned previously i have been very active meetings and have made actively making suggestions for new maps, a new leveling system, and new knives; however, the time and effort spent some of these things(Particularly maps) is miniscule. As a result of that, I recently have taken initiative set up a test server for the Surf gamemode, which was not easy considering I do not have access to the exact gamemode Zarp uses because it is custom. I am constantly testing new maps to see if they’d be a good fit for the server so that I can bring them up in the meetings so that they can be added. I am also currently in the process of learning how to code so I that I have the ability to possibly contribute more to the server than just simply making suggestions.

Responsibility:
Throughout my time as Staff I have handled my powers in a responsible manner while I was a Moderator as well as a Administrator, and if I am to be promoted to Super Administrator I will continue to conduct myself in an appropriate manner as well as be a productive and contributing member of the staff team.

Explain how you would review and handle an abuse report against another staff member:
First off I would read over the report the player made and review the evidence that they present thoroughly, I would then get in touch with them via steam to speak to them about the situation and have them give me a complete rundown of what occurred(as sometimes people do not include an in depth description of a situation when making a report. Following reviewing the evidence and speaking to the player, I would then get in contact with the staff member that the report was made against and get their side of the story. I would then review the evidence and discussions I had with the player and the staff member and determine if there was and abuse or wrong doing.

If I determine that the staff member did in fact abuse and it is their first offense, I would issue them a warning, and then inform the rest of the lead team of the situation(What occured, what I determined from the evidence provided, and that I have issued the staff member a warning for their actions.

If I determine that the staff member did in fact abuse their powers, and it has happened previously I would revoke their powers and confer with the rest of the lead team to determine the best course of action.

Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member bans a user for an excessive amount of time, how do you approach the staff member to ensure that everyone is treated fairly?

I would start off by getting in contact with the staff member who issued the ban and have them give me a rundown on the situation and why the decided to issue a ban that was for an excessive amount of time. If I deem that the player did in fact deserve the ban, I would take no action against the staff member and thank them for their time. If I determine that the ban was in fact excessive I would constructively inform the staff member that the punishment should always fit the crime, and that there isn’t a need to ban someone for an extensive amount of time if the offense was minor and have them lower the players ban to a time that is far more reasonable for whatever act they committed.

Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member is dealing with a user but is struggling to do so in an appropriate manner. How would you resolve the situation?

I would speak to the staff member and tell them that as a staff member is it is their duty to conduct themselves in an appropriate/professional manner and remind that them it is a good idea to remain level headed in any situations. I’d also tell them that there will always be players who may drive them crazy or make them extremely frustrated, but that doesn’t mean you should give in to your impulses and act in a way that is unbecoming of a staff member.


Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member accuses another staff member of breaking rules, how would you help resolve the situation?

First I would get the staff member making the accusations into teamspeak or steam chat so that they can go over their side of the story with me, ask for any evidence they may have of the situation, and not jump to any conclusions before hearing both staff members stories and reviewing evidence.

If there is ample evidence that the staff member is in fact breaking rules I would Inform the lead team of the situation and provide them any evidence given to me throughout the course of my investigating, and possibly issue a warn to the staff member.

If there is no evidence of the staff member breaking rules I would inform the staff member making the accusations that I cannot take action without proper evidence; however, I will keep my eyes and ears open for any other players or staff members coming forward with the same accusations, as well as possibly keeping my eyes on the accused staff member if I deem necessary.

Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member acts in a disrespectful manner towards another staff member and or sparks an argument within the staff team. How do you resolve the situation?

First I would get both staff members to give me their stories in private and find out what started the argument or disagreement between the two of them. I would then get both staff members into a steam chat or teamspeak channel to have them speak to each other about the situation (Reminding them that it is important that they do not disrespect one another and to remain calm and level headed during this discussion).

Ultimately my goal in bringing them together to have a conversation about their disagreement is to have them be able to understand why the other was upset and why the disagreement sparked so that they can avoid doing or saying the things that ignited their feud. During this I give my input about what went on and try to get to the bottom of it, and most importantly not pick sides and be a neutral voice of reason for the two. By the end of the conversation I hope the two staff members can resolve their differences and know how to prevent the occurrence of another argument.

Before sending both players on their ways I would remind them that we are all on the same team with the same common goals, and that there will always be times when we will disagree with one another. But it is important to remember that any and all disagreements should be handled constructively to prevent arguments and bad blood within the staff team.

Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
You spot a staff member breaking rules to the point of harming other users, how do you approach the staff member?

First I would speak to the staff member as soon as I notice they are breaking rules, and get to the bottom of why they would decide to break any of the rules that he as a staff member is supposed to be enforcing. The Surf server does not have a lengthy list of rules like SSRP does so it should not be hard for anyone to not break rules, especially as a staff member when you should be fully aware of the rules. Depending on the severity situation and the staff members attitude when speaking to them about the situation I would possibly issue them a warning. If the staff member has a bad attitude and doesn’t care I would issue them a warning. If the staff member is very apologetic and is remorseful for his actions I would only warn them verbally on the condition that they promise me they will not break rules again.
