Currently this specific part of the ToU reads: "No unlawful or objectionable content: unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, discussion about users who have a terms of service violation ban". Forum staff currently interpret this as far as you cannot even put a banned user's name in a post, which is a little excessive in some situations (thank you posts, passive mention, etc.) in my opinion. I think this part of the ToU should be slightly modified to something more simple yet still broad enough for staff to take action on a range of posts: discussion about terms of service violation bans. By removing "users who have" this gives a little leeway for users to still include people's names in a post, but still cannot discuss any specifics about their bans, why they were punished, etc. Again, I think this change will make forum staff's jobs a little easier so they no longer have to scour posts for someone's name, and make user's posts less restricted.
No your wording changes the meaning. We do not want people to be discussing the banned users period. Not just there bans any aspect of of talking
about them is not allowed. Saying their name in the context of other stuff as in thank yous as Morgan stated is fine because you are not trying to start a discussion about that user. But attempting to use that users name to initiate a discussion is not allowed.
