Like, seriously, there is no need to be ashamed or scared of your own voice, and the only way you can get over any shame or fears you may have for it is to actually speak. Of course, but speaking shouldn't be a thing of something to do when you have to do it, or something you want to avoid. You shouldn't have to feel like it is a stressful or bad thing. The best thing you can really do is what I did of starting out slow, typing most of the time but then still speaking occasionally, until it becomes easy for you to do.
Turns out it actually does help with self confidence and general social skills - The prospect if hosting a meeting or anything like that would have once been far too stressful for me.
However, I do understand that it is different for different people, I just hope you manage to find the confidence one day
