TOPIC: Garry's Mod crashing

Hello community,

So I'm planning on coming back to Zarp but when boot Garry's mod and try to join it loads a few of the addons and then crashes making it impossible to play.

If anyone has had the same issue could you please tell me what you did to get it working correctly again.

I've tried the following:

- Reinstalling windows 10 (I know it's terrible).
- Disabling all add-ons for Garry's Mod and turning off cloud data.
- Running the game in windows mode.
- Turning off custom add-on data when joining a server.
- Validating files on both CS:S and Gmod.
- Uninstalling and reinstalling Garry's Mod.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What are your specs? Could be a hardware problem.

You could also try re-installing Garry's Mod.

altho it might be a hardware issue.
This happened to be 3 years ago when i used to game on a mac, it usually crashed when i joined a dark rp server when installing the server addons, Might be that you have insufficient ram memory

You can try to choose the option for not downloading any custom files.
Steps:
1. Open garry's mod
2. Options
3. Multiplayer
4. The lowest option below where you can choose the three options and in there it is the lowest one if I can remember.

Okay I've found a pattern with the crashing; it seems to be crashing when downloading custom font but when I manually download the font and put it in the font directory it just crashes on another add-on.



I do not seem to the only person receiving this bug but no one on the internet and forums can provide a solid fix.

I'll keep working on it and I'll see you all soon (hopefully).

See what add-on it crashes on, download it and add it manually. I don't guarantee a fix but it's worth a try.

Yeah I had the same problem but It fixed when I downloaded massive amound of addons...

Not sure what I did or how I did it but It's finally loaded correctly without error.

(Excuse the textures I'm still installing CS:S)
