Computer Misuse Act (1990)

As far as i can tell giving out a password to another person does not fall under this act, unless he actually hacked the password which is highly unlikable as it requires some actual skill.

Just because it's linked up to your email doesn't make it yours. Thats like saying if someone has the keys to someone elses car its instantly theirs.
its really childish the fact you got access to his steam account knowing it was his and now your trying to justify it by somehow implying it was your account.

Valid point but one could still argue that he needs to change his password when you take someone's permission to an account as you can't erase someones memory of the password.

Steam accounts rely on emails. If you put your account on someone else's email it in all right allows them to do as they please as it can cause unwanted emails etc and stop them from using that email on their own account so they can make it theirs.
