My resignation: Leaving ZARP. 8 years 9 months ago #153297

After days of waiting and hesitating of doing it, here I am.

I'm resigning and leaving ZARP

It might be unexpected for most of you, as my activity on the forums didn't really decrease, some are one knew but didn't know when, and some smart ones maybe expected it, by seeing my gametime and my mood in-game decreasing.

First of all, I would thank anybody I've met on ZARP. That it'd be on the forums, on teamspeak and in-game. ZARP has been a really great experience for me, but I have to leave you.

After seeing me becoming one of the biggest minge/shitposter (or whatever you'd call me) of the forums you might wonder why I'm leaving. Well, actually I wonder how I haven't left before. But let me explain :
I'm not used to stay for long in a community or doing an activity that takes me times everyday. Actually, I don't think I've ever stayed in a such active and big community (in-game talking) before. Most of time, I lose the delight of playing in 1 or 2 weeks. But even if I stayed longer than the usual, I knew it wouldn't be much longer. Two weeks ago, I started feeling bad again due to my different mental illness, not being in a good mood enough to play or browsing the forums. Things changing, my mood was going from bad, to good, from good, to bad. Today, I can't just bear anymore of Gmod. The community (in-game) is far way from the kind of community I'm used to know, and I don't think it's mature enough for me. Most of you might laugh but yeah, coming from a minge like me but still, it's too childish. I couldn't bear some of the kids' joke in chat (as I can't just let myself from reading the chat), kids talking on mic etc... Actually, I think the forums are more serious than in-game, that's why I've posted more here.
Becoming a staff member on ZARP was for me a way to say that I'm part of the community. There was some rulebreakers, yeah, and I think I'm a good administrator but that was kinda ironical as I'm more of an anarchist and I hate authority, and I found myself being a police-man. I think that was just killing me from the inside. Also, joining the staff team was for me sorta big deal, when I just realized it was common. Not that I didn't like the staff team, but I think I expected something else. Another approach of the game, another way to deal with servers. But, no offense, but I actually felt myself as one of the rare ultra-serious staff member. At least in-game. I'm not really blaming other staff members, I think I just have a problem with that. Playing as a staff member wasn't playing anymore for me. I would just play like a newbie to die in order to able to watch suspicious deaths etc...

I'm adding this even tho most of you already read this. But I think I forgot the social part. I've been playing Gmod and only gmod for more than a month, having 150+hours in such time is a bit "too much" of gmod for me. I'd be glad to play with you on DarkRP or TTT but I think I've had enough of Gmod for now. Now, I need to relax and take my time a bit. Going back to some usual activities I had (music) and trying Gmod a bit with friends. Also, going back into a "french world" as I would only live with an english community. Speaking french and playing with french players again feels good. So yeah, you might see me on gmod but not for now.

I think I've talked enough and you see my point of leaving. I just can't play anymore. You might see me in-game from times to times but not for long, and mostly quiet. I might stay on the forums a bit, nothing sure.

PS2: As I've been talking about ZARP and why leaving it, I just quickly wanna say that I'm not trying to say anything bad about ZARP. It's a great community doing what it does great and it shall continue like this. I'm just not made for it.

You were a good staffmember and I enjoyed the talks we had together on teamspeak. Please do come on there again sometime. And btw, if you are thinking of trying out SSRP sometime I would gladly join you and show you around/play with you. I hope to see you bhopping our deathrun servers again sometime!
