TOPIC: People talking about malware

People talking about malware without knowing what they're talking about annoys the shit out of me. See I'm a malware analyst and coder, I know how this shit works. When people start saying random shit as facts it spreads rumors that are false and makes education harder.

Please do not say anything without knowing or having some sort of proof or backup.

Strange how a community told their players to remove their ZARP friends because of something to do with this.

And another community run by another old member telling members about some connection problems their having.....

Yep true. Chris_Smith already gave a good and correct explanation in the previous post of what these spreading Steam links actually are. When they were really noticed a few months back even the codes used in those executable files were spreading through reddit etc. They are NOT malware.

Wouldn't really call them a malware since they leave no traces on your computer as soon as the code has been executed. Malware = malicious software, usually a wanted software which has a malfunction and works out of it's intended work area. But I'm sure you do know more about these than me so I'll just let it be

why would you classify them as "Generic.Net.Stealer.SteamStealer" is there a particular reason for each one of those words you would call them? those "things" "malwares" whatever you would call them aren't really made to just steal your steam information, are they? what would be an "ungeneric" malware, as this one is "generic"? trying to ask some questions out of curiosity

If you are talking about the people that post things like "new malware posted on steam profiles" then it doesn't make the guy look stupid who posted it, he wanted to warn us, and for warning us he doesn't need to be a pro-virus-specialist. I think you guys should be thankful that people are trying to help you. I am just having enough of all this negative bullshit of people complaining about everything.
