Hi everyone! I am Dodo one of the fresh TTT Admins (This is my 2nd week as an admin) and this is my initial feelings about TTT and being admin.
Punishing hackers is broken and filled with loopholes:
During last week I had an incident of having a person who is obviously hacking on the server. I check from here on how to properly proceed with this situation, and after reading contacted Johnler. Johnler came on the server ran anti cheat on the hacker and it came up clear so he just observed.
Yeah he was. So now you ask what happened to him? I recorded over 10 minutes of footage of him obviously hacking and 5 days later I ask Johnler what did you do?
Johnler: the guy got kicked
KICKING A HACKER AFTER 5 DAYS!?
This is a clear message to the community. The Lead Team does not want us to ban hackers its enough that there will be kick on his rap sheet that will definitely show them their place..... oh wait the hacker uses a software that hides their rap sheet....
Ok so hackers get a free pass that sounds bad but surely there is nothing else....?
Oh boy are you wrong. On the same week I found BananaSlanger on the server doing his weekly Time & Report farm and then this happened:
I reported it to Johnler and went through the proper means to find some justice in this case of abuse of power.
Surely something happened!?
He got a stern talk and a slap on the wrist for wrongly punishing Lord Voldemort and showing this lack of interest in doing his duties as an admin.... Ok fine staff gets a free pass on abuse of power, but beware if you accidentally kill someone with a discom you will be driven to resigning (it was revoked but still the point stands.)
These flaws with staffing in TTT I have found within a week, but how many more are there? I recommend asking Svanzscape who seems to be the only one who cares about these.
I am done with dealing this in the shadows and I plead to the voice of this community to make sure at least these flaws will be dealt with and here are my suggestions on how things should be handled:
1. The hacker incident. Staff members should be allowed to ban a hacker if they gather enough evidence to support this, but only ban them until the next meeting where the lead team decides whether or not this ban should be extended. Only flaw in this is that an admin might abuse this to get rid of people they dislike. So what? they already have the power to ban people this would just extend their capability to help the server, and Admins should be persons that are trusted on the server.
2. BananaSlanger situation. I hate to be the bad guy, but he needs to be demoted in my time on Zarp (admittedly he has played far longer than I have) he has had MULTIPLE incidents where he has misbehaved. This includes being AFK for 4 hours and later claiming to be handling cases (which he had handled whole 0) + Yelling and being rude to me about me handling a case that he wanted (I was first to press "in progress") + Punishing someone instantly without even reporting them first and the incident shown in the video. He is impulsive and therefore not fit to be in the team in my opinion and has been given too many opportunities to change their behavior.
There's no way to loophole a hacking policy, it's quite straight forward. If you hack once, you get a kick, do it again and it's a permanent ban.
He joined 3 times in that week (that I know) and was previously known for hacking as I was lead to know that he is notorious for it. I would call this broken and filled with loopholes
also random thought since the guy is using software to hide his rap sheet how should we know that he has been kicked earlier? should we start keeping notes on everyone who have been kicked for hacking?

This entire bit is wrong. Firstly, there is no software that allows hackers to hide their rapsheet. There's a rapsheet database and the steamID is connected straight to that, so unless they somehow manage to change their steamID I think we can safely assume this to be false.
Secondly, the bit regarding "The Lead Team does not want us to ban hackers" is also wrong. The "Lead Team" has no actual power here. There are policies set in the community that have been decided by the Community Team and the staff team is supposed to follow those policies regardless of what their own opinions are. There have been plenty of discussions between users, Lead Team members and even CM team members about whether or not hackers should be banned on the spot, something you can not be aware of because you haven't been in the community for a very long time.
Regardless, my main point stands: there's a specific hacking policy that tells us what to do, and regardless of what we think of it we have to follow it. To immediately call the whole server "broken" is a rather quick assumption.

here you go sir. (1min 0sec - 1min 5sec.) This part of video shows that his rap sheet wont show up. I tried it multiple times on diffrent times he connected. I linked a spesific time, but I guess it doesnt work
About the policy. CHANGE IT
its frankly quite shit
and yeah I agree if there was just one incident of things that were broken surely, but if I manage to find 2 within a week there is something wrong
banana wants to be super admin and he time/report farms and after all the apps he has made he still thinks he deserves it when he does not do his admin duties and never plays the games. Sad to see we have admins like this on the server.
And about hackers on the server why do we need lead team to see if someone is hacking that person clearly snapped on someones head and we cant do anything, very annoying sometimes.
This is quite true we have to record everyone who we suspect does hack and nothing much gets done when a when a super admin + uses anti cheat then sees that it looks normal they just leave and think nothing of someone locking onto everyone's head and you should be able to ban someone for it (and if i remember correctly its even in the admin template for TTT) if that person was to be banned they should appeal in great apology detail and effort however that has being completely ignored. And for the bananaslanger thing this true he has being warned before and has continued i kind of remember saying if he continues his ways action will be done but where is it?
Also which one is wrong the admin application for TTT where it says about an admin banning someone for hacking or the policy's.

Thank you for this. For too long I have been intimidated on speaking against him and at this point I don't even care if I get any backlash

Dont be scared to be honest, banana is a bad admin who needs to show more care for his role.
Yea only the leadteam can see anticheat requests your only an admin so you can't see them. There is absolutely no way to spoof your steamid, if there was we would be in a whole other world of shit then just worrying about the rapsheet not working.

If this is the case how do you explain what I showed in the video in reply of Raeker? The rap sheet wasnt empty since there is pop up saying its empty. That rap sheet was tampered with on multiple occasions
at 27 seconds. here is 2nd occasion of him hiding the rap sheet
Edit: And the admin chat there is a proof that he was known for it and this was the first time I saw him
Edit 2: Yea I communicated with Johnler about this and I know I cant see anti cheat requests but he told me it came up empty
I'm not content with the hacking policy either. why can't we be trusted on dealing with hackers?
There are actually multiple members within the community that'd be banned because staff think they're hacking when they legitimately just have a good aim, like Tyler. "Trust" isn't the issue here, unless you mean access to the anticheat system, in which case it is. A lot of Lead Team members already struggle to use the system appropriately, making it public to all admins (and, guess what, that'd also mean BananaSlanger that all you fuckheads are roasting the shit out of) will only cause more issues. And then we aren't even talking about the fact that admins would then also have to be trusted with the policy, when a lot of admins also already forget the policies that they are actually supposed to know like the staff ethos or the appeal/report abuse policies.
It's rather easy for low-ranking staff to say "Can't we just be trusted" when there are a lot more factors to take into account.

Can I ask you one thing. In your opinion was the guy hacking? If you said yes then why should I not have been allowed to ban him? This goes against the reason I joined the staff (Helping the server)

But there is a big difference between snapping on someone's head and good aim. but i understand we cant jump to conclusions about this stuff.
