TOPIC: Addressing Concerns and Problems

Addressing Concerns and Problems 6 years 11 months ago #532344

Hello, I'll be making this post as fair to both sides as I can. These have been concerns of users and staff for aslong as I can remember.

This needs to be a civil discussion. Any posts making witch hunts, etc. will be removed.
The goal of this thread is to address and put into the open, some things all of us could do better. Staff & Users.

Staff F1 Response Times

There's a few portions of this which I'd like to address, but I can say the majority of the times I've been on staff have done a decent job and have responded in under 10 minutes majority of these times. However, I do feel that this can be drastically improved.

• Roleplaying

Roleplaying is the core of the server, but let's not let it get ahead of our duties. If you're on and staff are struggling to keep up with the F1 Load, put that thought about launching a nuclear strike aside and help out until it calms down.

• Lead Team

I feel that sometimes the lead team is too lenient when it comes to F1's. Even though your main job is to deal with staff situations, you're still apart of a team and sometimes the Mods and Admins online aren't enough. If you have enough time to ask the 5 staff online to deal with the 10 f1's, I'm sure you can help out too.

Hacking

Hackers completely ruin any chances for others to roleplay. While we all deserve chances, I feel we should be more strict on attempting to cheat the game for others and in past scenarios, ruining months of effort for the average player.

Server 3's Hot Mess

• CDM

Constantly, players report Car Death Match more than ever on this server and I feel a great improvement to this would be to simply change the spawn point for players on the map to inside the nexus.

This would lower the amount of reports drastically, also possibly stop the spawn deaths on the sidewalk.

• Lack of Staff

If you've played server three as a staff or player, you've often had a rough experience either being the only staff online, or one of the few online, or a user getting bombarded by rule-breakers. You're not alone. I think we need to encourage players around us even if you're a user to follow the rules. Not every time someone rule breaks are they a minge, sometimes the server rules can be hard to adapt to as a new user. Let's work on encouraging players to follow the rules, correcting them on what's okay and what's not, and hopefully over time this can encourage users that are american, etc. to go for staff to better enforce the rules on there, which we desperately need.
I'm happy to get these concerns of not just myself but everyday active and new players and staff off my chest. Let's have a reasonable and friendly discussion in the posts below about this.

From what I've heard the anti-cheat is like a force screenshare similar to the system from Skype, not even 100% sure if that's true could be a lie.

Honestly, there's so many aspects right now that need to be changed at the moment, in my honest opinion. Some little things, some even bigger things that involve even the community as a whole.

This community and it's members used to be really nice. A lot of people putting work into stuff and making stuff happen. The ethos used to be very different for every server. People actually had a reason to respect others. And those who didn't, got punished. That's just one example of many.

Staff Ethos, the rules in general on the forums, rules about Cm bans, even the Community team, where I know people are going to hate me for this, but this isn't what we had in mind when we have chosen the new members.

I have been critical about RedPowder before, I ain't denying it. But the thing is, he did his job very well until the end. He informed people about his decisions, admittedly he was very vocal about it but I liked that.

I know there's atleast some people who feel the same way.

And I would make a huge post about what to change, I love making my opinions public, and for the others to agree or disagree, but the thing is there would be no point in creating a thread.

Because everytime an Admin gets 1 tapped when they are behind cover because of the hitboxes not updating quick enough, they will spam an anticheat claiming that a random thief without a scopeboost is a hacker.

I'm not exactly one for rants, but after reading this, I do believe there are many legitimate concerns. Server 3 is pretty much the red-headed stepchild of ZARP, and has been for as long as I can remember. I'm sure the community would accept most of these changes with open arms, if they were to come into effect.
