Hi,

Let's start off by saying; this isn't a rant. I'd like to discuss about ZARP's economy. Currently, it's rather unbalanced. A million dollars is nothing these days, whereasin that used to be quite a large sum of money. People have hundreds of millions of dollars, just sitting in their bank account, waiting to be spent. This makes it extremely hard for new players to catch up, especially without having to buy VIP first.

Money sinks are the solution to that, but I'll get to that later.

Another problem is AFK mining; a lot of people are not satisfied with how people earn money. Various good suggestions to balance it out have been made, but to no avail. People AFK mine because it earns a lot of money, I get that. Basing is worthless; you barely earn any money in comparison to mining, especially without special printers/VIP printers. What I'd suggest you do, is lessen the amount of gems received from rubies. Lower it to 40 or so (do the same with gold of course) per ruby. Also increase the money made from a printer, and to balance that out, increase it's purchase price. This may sound odd, since this wil only bring more money into the game, but then again, they also cost more. Our purpose is not to change the economy back, but to alter it in such way it doesn't inflate even more; thus, what used to be 1 mil back in the days, will now be (and already pretty much is) equal to 10 mil now.

Lowering the gems made from rubies and upping the money made from printers will encourage people to start basing more; the thing that makes ZARP so much fun, aka the raiding/basing aspect. People will still AFK mine of course, but a lot less since it's not as profitable as basing. Possibly even make pickaxes break after a certain amount of gems mined, after which they'd have to craft a new one.

Another thing that was quite bad for the economy, but is easy to fix, is wheels during events. They are fun, yes, and I'm not saying they should be removed; in contrary. Just remove money from it. By that, I mean, do no longer give out money when it lands on a certain space on the wheel. All those AFK mined-gems are not bad for the economy; they don't add any money into the game. Money received from wheels, which are spun with gems, do. I would personally also cut down on the special printers that are added during upgrades, instead, make the regular ones worth their while.

By doing the above, we will establish the economy. Small portions of money will be added over time, due to the printers. This is where some of the countless suggestions kick in; add money sink holes.

A few examples would be;
-Make a temporary/permanent wheel, that costs money to spin, and will only give items (no money). Every wheel spun will be another few millions removed from the game.

-Add cosmetics. Some people will probably be against this, but many really like CS:GO knives. Allow us to unbox knives, that you will permanently have equipped with certain jobs. These knives would be un-tradeable. 100% guaranteed people would be willing to spend like 50 million to look cool, wearing a fade gutknife or whatever.
^ that's just one example. Another one would be adding skins, hats, whatnot.

-Make character upgrades actual charachter upgrades. Although this would be complicated, hear me out.
Originally, when I joined this server, I thought charachter upgrades were actual upgrades for your character; once purchased, they were a part of you. You couldn't trade them, and they'd show up in the "character upgrade"-menu. I was wrong. It would've been cool that way, and can still be changed; make upgrades untradeable. People will start crafting upgrades they want theirselves, removing plenty of cash each time. I'd suggest you give us like a 1 or 2-month notice, saying that soon these upgrades will become untradeable. This will make sure that people who have multiple of each upgrade, for trading purposes, won't end up having two of the same upgrade, and they could still sell it.

-Make weapons more expansive. On most DarkRP servers, it actually hurts to die and lose your gun. Now, I'm not saying you should make them cost 100 million each, but upp'ing their price will definetely rid us of some more cash.

Last I'd like to say that it would be nice if other weapons were buffed/snipers nerfed. Right now, PSG and maybe the SVU are the only worthy choices of weaponry; this kind of removes the fun off raiding; it would be a lot more fun if you didn't know what weapons you would face.

What numbers and how? I don't have acces to our database whatsoever. If you tell me what numbers/facts you'd like I can try to gather them. But honestly I think that's up to the owners/community managers; the idea is here, now we just have to realise it and turn it into actual updates.

However, Why would we stop miners going AFK when you can do it yourself.

Not even close to what I'm saying. I'm suggesting that we cut the gems down a bit, so it isn't way too OP in comparison to the other possibilities to earn money.

Ahh it's that time on the forums again, I doubt anything will change. I don't really see anything wrong with afk mining and such so I'd rather just keep everything as how it is instead of making complicating systems.

Ahh it's that time on the forums again, I doubt anything will change. I don't really see anything wrong with afk mining and such so I'd rather just keep everything as how it is instead of making complicating systems.

It literally is the only good way to make money, making other jobs worth nothing in a economical sense and only in a roleplay one. He aint even suggesting it be cut completely, he is just suggesting an economical balance to still keep it viable.


Clarky, I respect you dude but please actually read it and not just assume the topic is about "Remove afk mining because bad"

I did actually read it and I thought I'd leave my own personal opinion about afk mining. Is there something wrong about that? I made no assumption whatsoever to thinking that this topic was just here to remove afk mining thank you very much

ok listen they all ready lower the value to 40 or 60 i guess and it dident work so they got it back to 80 + why would they stop the afk mining while you can do it as well . no one complains about this because the problem is new players cant afford to pay vip with ingame money because vip now = over 100mill and new players find it hard to get 100m so they leave or they buy it with real money ! the only thing they can do now is stop adding op suits and items and start working on adding more feature in the server other than mining and basing .
